I want to thank all of my volunteers and supporters who worked so hard on my campaign, and those of you who voted for me today. This is a historic election for the Democratic Party. Our party is making a huge impact across the nation tonight that will be felt for years to come!

It is time for a change in Hartford. As a four term Mayor of Derby I know how to make tough decisions, and I know how to improve governmental efficiency. I want to bring this hands-on approach to Hartford to resolve the critical issues facing the State. If we keep approaching the issues the same way, then we will keep getting the same results.

We need to participate. Our voices need to be heard in Hartford in order to see real results in our community. I have been tested at the local level for more than two decades. I am proactive and effective, and I will benefit my constituency with tangible and positive results.

The real change we can believe in starts right here at home.
